Wasn't Jobey one of Lutz's guys that he brought in as an assistant? What about Diego? I can't remember honestly.

I always thought JZ was a leader, but a silent one, led by example. From what I've read Plavich is a leader and appears to be showing it. If that's the case, then Lutz has brought in a leader.

I'd agree with you with JZ as a silent leader, but if you disregard Cam for some off court reasons, as some have, you would have to do the same with JZ. But I think both were a major part of why we were successful that season. I am not considering guys brought in before Lutz, because the head coach has the final say in these players.

Plav might be a leader, but no one knows for sure yet. Eddie has a chance now that he is a junior as well.

this past year was Lutz's first team he completely assembled as Head coach. you can't count Jobey and gang as his doing, even though he recruited them.

How you figure? The statement was Lutz hasn't brought in a leader. I think most of us understand the assistants do a majority of the scouting and preliminary contacts and then the head coach is brought in to seal the deal.

If he recruited them and got us in, then he recognized the talent and intangibles. In my book, that means he brought them in.

:applause: thanks for fianlly talking Niners.

yes we all know that ass. coaches scout them and recruit, but ultimately it's the Head coach's decision on who does and does not sign. Lutz gets credit for helping land Jobey, but Melvin signed him, he was the head coach. To be consistent, I give Lutz the credit for Iti, not Nicleberry. bottom line, last year was Lutz' first team that he signed completely and there were alot of problems. this won't go away, we have to take suspect kids to win at this level, its probably a necessary evil. It would be nice to see frosh coming in every year 3 at a time and graduating together, but that is fantasy land unless you are a powerhouse like Duke.

No shit Sherlock, but it still has no baring on the fact that Lutz recognized the talent and recruited it. That was the point.
