    cusa big east merger news

this has been discussed before, but it is nice to see that apparently it is a real possibility. I can't see cusatalk here at work so please forgive me if yall have already worn this article out.

let the big east and cusa football schools be a conference and the basketball onlys from each form a second conference. I would wager everyone is on board except the hoop only schools from the big east. I am sure St johns and Gtown will not want to get out of Syracuse's and BC's conference.

I don't think all cusa schools would be in (the west schools like TCU and Houston).

    new cusa/big east hoop conference:

    charlotte
    marquette
    depaul
    st louis
    g'town
    st johns
    providence
    villanova
    notre dame
    seton hall

    football league:

    Syracuse
    WVU
    BC
    UCONN
    Pitt
    Rutgers
    UL
    Memphis
    Cincy
    ECU
    UAB???
    Tulane???
    USF
    USM
    Houston???
    TCU???
    Army???

my biggest concern is in what conference will our other sports participate in? I would hope that if our B-Ball teams are playing these schools so would our baseball, soccer, volleyball, softball, and other related team sports. If not...would we just be independent in these areas? I would think that are athletic programs across the board are talented enough to play these schools in same conference.

good point dh. I know that this basketball conference would maybe only field 3 baseball teams. :(

This conference thing is going to be huge for us as far as recruiting goes in all sports. If we want to continue to recruit at the level we are at and attract the "big guys" then no other scenario besides maybe an A-10 scenario (if one exists) will allow this to continue. All of this transferring news is hitting us at the WRONG time! This is not helping our cause at all! Now hire yourself another top assistant Lutz and let's figure out a way to pay the damn guy well and let's move on!!!

I thought I never say this, but I now feel like Judy Rose is the only one our fate lies with. If you've ever beleived in "GIRL POWER" Judy now is the time to show THE UNIVERSITY OF CHARLOTTE and Alumni what you got! And Chancellor Wood"WACKER?" F-OFFFF you ole basssstad!
