Why are we giving Lutz a contract extension after a 13-16 season, and 4 recruiting mistakes were on last year's roster that have transferred?

why are these recruiting mistakes happening? a transfer or two a season is a given, but 4? I agree most of them should leave this year, but why were they here to begin with if they weren't a good fit?

Many questions need to be answered right now Metro!! I can't understand what's going on!! In other news I went to the Mcinnis League last night just to see Grier...Guess What? Grier was a no show....Withers had a terrible game probably only scoring about 6 points and being ragged on by the DJ the entire game...and Clemmons had an AWEFUL game!!

Exactly, Metro. Why you get a contract extension after the worst year we've had in more than a decade is beyond me. Last year's team was undisciplined, and basically a train wreck. Since the season ended, its really only gotten worse. I have a very bad feeling about next year...

I love Lutz as a person, but lets be honest he has glaring weaknesses as a coach. He does NOT run a tight ship...Players in his system are generally out of control and dont listen to him. Rodney, Demon, the whole team last year, etc. The worst was last year after Grier knocked out Clemmons and he gets to play like nothing happened? What the fuck?

Anyways, Lutz is at his best when someone else takes control for him, a vocal floor leader. Maybe Plavich is it. If not....

Contracts are given many times as votes of confidence and to dispel rumors on the recruiting circuit. Negative recruiting happens non-stop and the last thing we want is opposing coaches saying Lutz is in trouble, you don't want to go there. So by giving him another year after a losing record, it tells people that we are committed to him and he will be here.

As for transfers, this is today's society. If a player is not going to get what he wants he is going to leave. Very few players, especially those surrounded by uninformed posse's, are willing to be role players and do what it takes for a team to win. Butter wanted to leave because he wanted to play more. VG wants to play more minutes. They all do. I can't say I necessarily blame them as you only get four years to play. Some are content sitting on a bench and helping where they can and getting a quality education, but many are not.

Our troubles as a program are stemming from chemistry issues more than anything, and that is more correctible and more tolerable than reading their names in police blotters as some other programs have to deal with. It takes a unique mix of 18-22 year olds with big egos to actually gel. The team that excelled and overachieved the most under Lutz was the team without a superstar and Galen, Kelvin and Co. just won games. Hopefully we can get the right mix of guys in place this year that just care about winning. However many people it takes to transfer in or out to get to that point is fine with me... coaches included. I only wants guys here that truly want to be here, otherwise they are not helping. Another very positive addition by subtraction was losing Nickleberry... but that is just my opinion.

Well said, Graduate. If they're not loyal to Charlotte, who needs them. I want wins too, but loyalty is more important to me.

It is obvious that Lutz has no control of this team and that goes back to last season. He plays favorites to the point where he puts games in jeopardy.

We will see real quick this season if he listens to his players at all. At the end of last season, several players expressed concerns with 'The Demon Brown Show'. If Demon is whipping up 20 threes/ game and pulling up for 25' shots on 3 on 1 breaks, this team may revolt.

I bet if Baldwin had not already sat out a year he would be gone too. What did he average, 8 minutes a game? Grier got about 10. That means your 2 best athletes on the team were getting no PT. What a joke. I remember a post game, after Mitch had had another great game, GW asked why he only got 11 minute when he was playing so well. Lutz responded "is that all he played? Well I guess I should pay better attention to that" Are you fucking kidding me? I guess he is too busy making sure Basden and Demon get their 30+ minutes.

Lets face it, if Clemmons didnt get hurt, increasing Withers minutes, Withers is probably gone too.

At least Grier transferred in the summer, unlike some assholes in the middle of the season.

Why would they even think of taking Kevin Johnson back? Now that's a loaded question.

The hell with the team revolt, if I have to sit thru the "Demon Show" again this season, I'm going to lead my own revolt.
