    Maybe, I think. Genius enough to make 'Pet Sounds', but went off the deep end too soon after that to follow up.

    He was just a different thinker, extremely talented in creating. I think he was just a very complex musician who was able to express his thoughts well. Genius is different things to different people, but no, not in my mind. Even the most creative, influential people in music to me aren't geniuses and Brian Wilson isn't among that elite.

    He has rebounded with 2 great ablums of late. "Live at the Roxy theater", and a almost impossible "Pet Sounds Live"

    Genius. There was a documentary made a few years back about the history of Rock'n'roll and they talked about his work, the complexity of it. The man was amazing. "God Only Knows" is as good a love song as I've ever heard. "Good Vibrations" is incredible.
    I know the word "genius" is thrown around far too indiscrimately. But when you consider all the people who make music and who've made music. Not more than a handful could have produced a work like that. Genius.
