He was cut and the story was that he would resign with Tennesse later but he is visitng other teams. I would not mind signing him. I still think he threw superbowl 30 but he would be an upgrade over Peete and probably be cheap. Any thoughts?

I'd take him over Peete but Henning won't and I can't see having two quarterbacks on the roster in their mid to late thirties. Maybe he's a name to throw out in negotiations with Peete as the team and Peete's people are not close yet.
And by the way, what the hell is that about. I didn't realize that there was anybody else clamoring for Rodney's services. I assume that Dan Henning is all that stands between Rodney Peete and six more months a year to concentrate on his golf game.

I have to admit that I like O'Donnell, and I think he is a better quarterback than Peete. That said, imo consistency is more important right now given the roll we would want from either of these guys. If we go after a mid-level free agent quarterback from the oft-mentioned "list" then we don't need both O'Donnell and Peete, same goes if we draft a 1st or 2nd round quarterback with hopes of them taking over soon. Peete is respected and a leader and we need that, not as much as we need offensive talent, but I think the consistency Peete would bring back to the team is worth the difference in talent between him and O'Donnell. Now to emphasize, I say that only because of the rolls I see these guys in. If we were going to let one of them start for the next couple of years, then right after shooting myself, I would be pushing for O'Donnell.

Kind of duplicating effort. Cheaper than some of the younger guys, but I'd rather get a younger guy.

Both are old (Peete and NO'), but accurate, smart, yet have a tendancy to telegraph their throws.
