Several talking heads say Dallas and SF are both wanting to move up and we are at prime target and could still get Walker.

    You never know

I would be pretty surprised if Dallas came calling. San Fran is a more likely trade partner to me. They would probably give us a pick swap in the second and another fifth rounder.

    Round by round and needs
What guys are available, or should be at our picks for certain positions of need.
There is a HUGE pool of talent between 15 and 50, but we are not part of that, yet. Just surmised on first 3 rounds and why you don't see RB in the mix.

    Edge
Most of our guys on roster have long arms, explosion and weigh 255-265 lbs
At 8, we should have Walker, Williams, EZ, Green, I say we pick Williams. He is 260-265 and matches the profile of our other edge guys.
At 57, we should have Swinson, Kennard. I would say Swinson would be our pick. He also has the measurables we are looking for.
At 74, Olajedo from UCLA could work as again, he checks the measurable boxes.

    Safety
At 8, there are no good values for us
At 57, Winston would be the closest fit followed by Watts
At 74, Possibly Watts makes it here, but if not, Mukuba from Texas

    At DT/DE
At 8, Graham would be a prayer answered
At 57, Darius Alexander or Tyleik Williams would round out our DL and give us the start of some good rotations.
At 74, Alfred Collins, TJ Sanders, Josh Farmer, depending on which type of rotation you are wanting to build, some are quick like Sanders, some great against run like Collins

    At LB
We did sign one in FA, so back up is more what we are looking for.
At 8, Walker is only one that can fit on paper, but for us, Morgan said he would play OLB and we did not take him there as he does not hit our predictable measurables desires.
At 57, Still nothing of value unless UCLA guy drops.
At 74, Knight or Stutsman might work, but still might be a little early

    At OT
We don't need one early, but I think getting a versatile guy in 2nd or most likely the 3rd is a must as Moton has suspect knees and is well over 30. Icky, who knows, but he has not been giving the 5th year option yet, so not certain how the Panthers feel about him. Probably a wait and see.
At 74, we could take Ozzy Trapilo, or Belton from NC State or Cameron Williams. I think taking one earlier than this is not necessary.

    At CB
At 8, I don't see a value as the Michigan kid is coming off injury and after Brooks last year, I think we steer clear of guys that are rehabbing.
At 57, Morrison, Porter, are guys that might work
At 74, there are plenty of guys, maybe a Riley, Strong, Parish, or N Williams

    At TE
At 8, Warren is the guy that could possibly be there and I think other than Graham, is one of the two blue chippers left for us.
I don't see a reason to get another "guy" in 2nd or 3rd

    At WR
At 8, the value is not there, we would need to trade back to early teens for Golden or Tmac to make sense
At 57, you have possibly Noel, Higgins, and since we have our big WR in Leggette, Noel would be everyones hope.
At 74, maybe a K Williams as the speed guy as Savion Williams is another big target. Jack Beck and Jaylen Royals could also find their spot, not sure what the Panthers think of the last 2

My big problem with Williams is his lack of production.

Watts is Safety 3, behind Starks and Emmonwori. Winston's injury may push him to the third, although I like him a lot and wouldn't be unhappy if we got him in the second.

I pretty much agree with everything else you say.

Yeah, Williams did not have high sack numbers for sure, but then I watch film and GA has him playing 3 Tech, and all over the place. If I look at Clowney and the other guys we have brought in, none of them are the 245 lb guys like Walker or EZ or Princely, then are generally bigger and can hold the edge better. Not to say we won't totally blow that up this year, but not much to do other than speculate with 3 days to go.

On Safety, you might be right, I have seen Watts and Winston going back and forth. Both would be good for our system and if we picked either at 57, I would not be unhappy

Sanders dropping to end of 1st round, late twenties, where NY Giants pop back into the end of the opening round to get him.

You heard it here first, haha

McShay says Saints are not going to take him at 9, so let the smoke and mirrors begin

Just for fun, let's see what the latest talking head rumors are saying as a possibility.

    1. Ward
    2. Hunter
    3. Carter
    4. Walker *** Big move by Vrabel as everyone thinks this kid is an incredible LB, just like Vrabel was and could be the defensive QB on their team for years to come.
    5. Jeanty. This one is getting a lot of buzz in the last 2 weeks
    6. TMac. They have TE covered along with Oline and a big WR is a need
    7. Membou. They have no real starting RT and that is Membou specialty.
    8. Can you imagine a world where the Panthers can pick from Graham and Warren? Me either, but fun to fathom.

I've seen mocks that look like they're trying hard to be realistic having Walker to the Patriots, Jags, and Raiders now.

I would be surprised if we take an offensive player in round one.
