"A few months back, Diddy claimed that he wanted to buy the entire NFL. While it's exceedingly unlikely that that's even possible, it does look like he'll have a chance to cop his own NFL team.
On Sunday (Dec. 17), Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson announced his plans to put the team on sale at the end of the 2017 NFL season. His announcement was apparently precipitated by Sports Illustrated's recent report that he'd paid out settlements after being accused of acting inappropriately in the workplace. The allegations included sexual harassment and the use of racial slurs.

Now, Diddy's put his name in the running to take Richardson's place, and unsurprisingly, he's already promised to remedy some of the perceived racist-ills of the league—namely, the continued under-employment of embattled former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick.

"I will be the best NFL owner that you can imagine," Diddy says in a video he uploaded to his Instagram page. "I will immediately address the Colin Kaepernick situation and put him in the running for next year's starting quarterback. It's just competition baby, it's just competition. But also, I will have the best halftime show, the best selection of music and we will win Super Bowl after Super Bowl."
