At least NO and Atlanta won't be resting their starters

Panthers seem to continue to leave Bryce with less and less to work with

Jets win and we are picking 7th unless SOS plays out badly for us.

Otherwise, we are back at the old familiar 8 spot

We’ve gotten good players at 8 before

Looks like Jets will win and depending on SOS, we could be at 7

We will still be 8th unless Vikings win tonight, then we should be 7th as it will raise Jets SOS above ours

Looking at staying at 8 and 2 or 3 trade back scenarios

Staying at 8, we will inevitably (precombine and pro days) have to get someone that is a reach if we get a DT or Edge. Most think a WR or OT will be the value at our pick. Thus the trade back scenarios.

Going back about 4-5 spots might yield an additional 3rd and will get us someone more in line with the value of the 12-13th picks. Target Jalon Walker or Tyler Warren

Going back 10 spots, can give us a 2nd rounder, but at pick 50. This certainly helps, but we still need to move well beyond 50, Target James Pierce, Walter Nolan

Going back 2 spots with Chicago, might yield a switch of 2nd rounders from 57 to 41, plus, we might have to kick in a later round pick. This might actually be the best option if Chicago wants to jump NO to get the OT

Lastly, dropping back into the mid 20s could work if we could grab someone like Kenneth Grant. 18 could get him for sure, but 24 or 25th pick might see him gone.

2nd round has many gems in it, but at 57, we will miss on some guys that we sorely need.

If we stay at 8, we have a shot at an elite player. If we trade down, we will still get a good player, and this draft will have good players all the way into the third round. So it really comes down to how Morgan wants to build depth. If he goes young, he should trade down. If he's just filling holes with 1-2 year contracts, then the elite guy is the way to go.

Most likely, as I said above, the elite player at 8, at least with pre combine chatter, is going to be an OT or a WR. Not sure that helps us move in the right direction as we are sooo low on D talent.

Maybe so, but I will hope if we are there, we trade down, at least a few spots

I know an elite WR and plug in starter on the OL would be great, but with the D being not just being poor, but NFL record setting shitty, how can they seriously look at offense for #8?
I would rather even have Malaki Starks over any WR. Even T Mc.
