I didn't see this one coming.

Virginia's Tony Bennett retiring ahead of basketball season

If Hubert Davis and the Heels get blown out by Duke then Hubert can probably kiss his job goodbye.

Duke was favored by 12 and a half at home and won by 17. What is normally a fairly close contests. This one should be considered a blowout. This can't make the boosters happy.

"North Carolina is hiring longtime NBA agent Jim Tanner as its general manager for men's basketball, less than one month after coach Hubert Davis said that the "old model for Carolina basketball just doesn't work."

Hey Hubert, maybe the old model isn't working for. All the good Carolina teams had a great point guard. Your recruiting efforts leave a lot to be desired with what you're getting as starters would have in the past considered role players or bench depth. Dean and Roy would have personally fell on the sword and took responsibility for the team's lackluster play. Not blaming historic team models and taking blame would be a step in the right direction. Dean would have found a way to work with shot clock and dealing with one and done(s).
With the players that Roy recruited and his style of play the shot clock was never a factor.
Push, push, push and hustle on defense. Maybe it just sounds a lot simpler than it really is.
