XL, Coker, and Sanders were all rookies. One of them is bound to take a step forward in their second year, and it wouldn't surprise me if all three did.

Brown will fix a lot, but he's still just one guy. We need a Nose Tackle badly, we have no pass rush, and we don't have any Safeties. There's a lot of work to be done on that side of the ball.

Getting another second round pick is almost fantasy. Here's a breakdown.

Back when Fitterer was running the draft, he traded a ton and it was pretty obvious that his frame of reference was the Rich Hill draft value chart. Let's assume Morgan uses the same one, except when a team like the Rams grossly overpays to trade up. Most times when two teams trade in the draft they try and use the same chart and make the points even. The exceptions are when one team REALLY wants to trade, and then you get extras thrown in. This generally happens for Quarterbacks, but rarely for other players.

So, if that's the case, then our pick is worth 406 points. Here is what we might get for it (pick values in parentheses).

New Orleans - 9 (387), 128 (19). The math checks out nicely, but trades within divisions are rare, and 128 is a 4th round pick anyway.

Chicago - 10 (369), 72 (67), we need to give them back 30 points to make this work, so we would probably send them 110 (29). Again, we get a third and lose a fourth, no second. This one could actually materialize if the Bears REALLY want their pick of the Offensive Tackles.

San Francisco - 11 (358), 112 (28), 137 (16), 227 (3). This wouldn't be terrible if it happened, because we need depth. But their biggest need is an edge rusher, although they do need a tackle as well.

Dallas - 12 (347), 76 (61). Another third round pick. Yay!?

Miami - 13 (336), 98 (37), 99 (36), 149 (12), we send 140 (15) back to them to make the math work. Still getting third round picks, but at least there are two of them. Miami needs help in the secondary and at Tackle.

Indianapolis - 14 (325), 81 (55), 116 (25). They don't need anything that merits trading up, unless they get stupid about Jalen Milroe or another quarterback.

Atlanta - 15 (315), 46 (128). We would send them 113 (27) and 163 (10) to make the math work. We're finally in the second round, but it costs us a pick and it also won't happen because division rivals.

Arizona - 16 (305), 47 (124). We send 145 (13) and 163 (10) back. Again, we lose a pick. Arizona needs defense though, and we would be better served making the pick ourselves.

Cincinnati - 17 (296), 49 (118), 80 (56), we send 74 (64) back to them. This one doesn't suck, because we gain a pick including a second. But their needs are like ours, so probably better to just make the pick again.

Seattle - 18 (287), 50 (115), 210 (4). They need a tackle, so this is somewhat plausible. We get a second round pick and a late sixth.

The rest are playoff teams, but you get the idea. We need a trading partner who has a reason to move up and who will give us fair value. I don't think we trade down, but if we do I bet it's with either Chicago or maybe San Francisco. But at eight we have a shot at a difference maker, while past 11 or 12 we're just getting good players.

At 18, we could get the TE Warren which would open up our offense quite a bit.

At 50, we could get Princely at Edge
At 57, we get the big NT Butler

The extra 6th we could use strategically for trade up in 3rd and 4th rounds possibly

ESPN has I think, only 12 players with a true 1st round grade this year.

We are on the edge of that at number 8, so hopefully we get some offers. If the guys we have w 1st round grades are gone, we might as well move back

also, the more I look at the TE Warren that I mention above getting at 18, the more I think he goes higher. The guy is very talented and tough. The right system can make him into something Kelce and Kittle cannot even achieve. I like him a lot

I don't think it's a good WR corps even if two guys take a step, but I'm also fine with it for 2025, since I still view this as a multi-year rebuild. Fortify the trenches now, then add the WR1 as a capstone.

Plus, Young is looking like the type of QB who can elevate WRs just as long as you're not letting him get sacked into oblivion.

Damn, Mykel Williams is all the way down at #18, and Walker is #52. Most boards I see have them above Starks, who PFF loves and has at #7. Not a great look for UGA fans overall.

I can't wait until after the Combine when all of these boards start coming together. Right now things are too all over the place.
