I also didn't like it when I saw the Panthers favored. Playing with expectations is a different kind of challenge. I'm sure it also pissed off the Cowboys, who still have some elite players at the top of their roster.

Zimmer was psychotic today. Parsons at DT on 3rd downs. Sometimes the opponent has something you never planned for.

Canales' last question at the post game presser was, do you still have faith in the 3-4? He said absolutely. How can he lie to everyone without even blinking? Is the D not near the bottom of the league?

To be fair, that's a dumbass question deserving of a generic response. The Panthers and Vikings run vastly different schemes even though both teams are technically a "3-4".

A much better question would be:

"Can the Fangio system work without dominant defensive line play?"

I think we're still sitting on an incomplete grade.

Has he improved yes but not clearly enough to say he's the guy. He gets another year and we all pray it isn't a daniel Jones fraud year.

Incomplete is perfectly fair. Right now he's earned the right to be the starter next season. It doesn't have to be anything more than that.

And if he goes back to being the completely unwatchable version of weeks 1 and 2, then he loses the job again. One of the things I really like about Canales is his adherence to meritocracy. He'll start/bench players based on who deserves to play. I know that sounds like a given in the NFL, but not all HCs roll that way.
