How can they or anyone spin this positively? It would be one thing gad it been for a pick but no it was to move up a few spots. 2 players for ~ 10 draft spots #brilliant

Why does everyone feign all this outrage for a team they have mostly complained about?
Johnson is gone, big whoop. What has he done in the few months he has been here?
He has caught a few passes, scored 3 TDs(the same number as XL), but he has also given up on routes and not blocked when needed. He was handed the #1 crown without earning it(much like Kamala) and he did nothing better than an average job.

We're upset because we're watching the team slip into the pre Dan Campbell lions level of decision making. And it doesn't look like they're going to reverse course anytime soon. The complaining will stop but only once we've accepted the inevitability and it hurts knowing that- we're watching essentially a beloved family member waste away like a fucking junkie.

Prediction: Johnson will play at an ELITE level the remainder of the season.

Realizing you have a problem is the first step toward recovery. Distance yourself from the drama and your life will be much smoother. If you won't do it for yourself then do it for those that you care about.

It's his contract year, and he now has a chance to not only play a lot of meaningful snaps, he can help his team make a deep playoff run. Of course he's going to look elite.

We were not going to give Donte Jackson another contract, so we shipped him to Pittsburgh for a high potential WR as part of the "Let's see what we have in Bryce" mission. Well, we've seen what we have in Bryce, so we don't need Johnson any more for that. He's not great in the running game, giving up on blocks, and he's probably doing a lot of bitching behind the scenes. Now he's happy, we got a little bit for our troubles, and guys like Coker will get more meaningful snaps.

And there's also the player perceptions of this move. We did Johnson a huge favor, and other players can see that. So maybe it helps convince one to sign with Carolina during Free Agency, who knows?

It's just 2 players for essentially ~10 spots up the draft

It's really a swap of draft picks and one player.
There had to be something going on behind the scenes that the public doesn't know about.
