Canales was specifically picked to bring Young along, if his recommendation is to sit him the rest of this year before he's ruined, then so be it. The QB's he's worked with and helped in the past, Geno Smith & Baker Mayfield, had waayyy more NFL experience. Young needs to take a few steps back before he's going to able to move forward. The game hasn't slowed down for him yet. It may not, but it was definitely is not happening trial by fire. Hopefully Dalton stays healthy for while.

I think Steven A mentioned, in the last 10 games, the Panthers have had the lead for only 10 seconds. I was surprised because I thought it was more games than that since they've even had a lead in a game.

Bryce looks to be the newest QB for the whisperer to work with. Like you say, all the others had years of experience.

I am not sure if I would not just expect to lose as a coach, and go out there and work on execution.

If we have the big guards, then lets run the ball, not matter if we are behind. Let's establish something, anything.

If your QB whisperer is benching your QB after only two games, it kind of suggests that he doesn't see anything that he can build on.

We'll see he could be a shitty whisperer too. Lest we forget:

A month later, Frank Reich was on the job, partially because of the promise of the staff he'd put together. He had a line on Jim Caldwell, the guy who taught him how to be a coach and was also Peyton Manning's position coach. He had thoughts about coordinators, but they talked to a lot of guys before they chose Thomas Brown, bringing that Sean McVay Rams offensive energy to the mix. Then they got Josh McCown to come coach quarterbacks, something he hadn't officially done other than when he was working with a kid named Drake Maye at Myers Park High.
That's a lot of manpower. And they didn't assemble it to not coach a quarterback.

Young is being benched because David Tepper's tummy hurts. There's no long term considerion for Young or the team happening. Tepper's tummy hurts, and he wants the hurt to go away.

As for Canales being the QB whisperer, I called bullshit on that relatively quickly after the hire. Geno is doing just fine without him, and so is Mayfield. Meanwhile, Young has gone from ineffective as a rookie to completely unwatchable this season. We'll see what happens after two games, but I've never been sold on the miracle worker narrative. More likely, the Panthers just made another shitty hire.

So it was Dalton that Canales really wanted to revitalise :victoryg:
