You fuckers haven't learned a thing from my Braves fan thread coverage.
You've got to lowball the enthusiasm and still nitpick the team's shortcomings.
That way anything good that happens will seem all that much sweeter.
Hyping this much, especially on just one player, can lead to a huge-ass let down if things might possibly go south.

The thread where you were shitting all over your team while I said they'd still win the NL East?

Look, if we're going to be all literal and shit, I still have questions about Cam's deep arm. The one deep ball to Moore was ugly, and looked like a continuation of late 2018, early 2019, 2020 Patriots Cam. That part of his game might be shot. However, he's definitely a more accurate, more developed quarterback than he ever was during the MVP season. He quietly completed 65% of his passes last year despite playing with the worst WR corps in the NFL, and he's still a goal line/redzone/short yardage cheat code. As it just so happens, those are the three areas where the Panthers have lost close games over the last 2 1/2 years.

He's better than Bridgewater. He's better than Darnold. This is probably the best group of skill players he's ever played with. The offensive line sucks, but the dual-threat nature of his game definitely mitigates that weakness to an extent. How much, we'll see. I suspect that the line isn't as bad as Sam Darnold was making it look. Joe Brady is better than Mike Shula, while also showing a willingness to play Shula Ball when it's actually working. And Brady isn't idiotically ignoring QB runs near the goal line the way Norv Turner did. When the Panthers are near the end zone, defenses have to account for an extra man. This gets accentuated with Newton.

I think it will work. If it doesn't, you're not on the hook for anything next year. Also, you can't just ignore the emotional/spiritual lift that Cam has brought back to the team. I know it's become trendy to view NFL team building through the lens of a fantasy football manager, but reality still exists, and this is still a game played and consumed by human beings. To quote Jerry Richardson, this organization needed the life pumped back into it. Bringing back Cam isn't a cure all, but it's certainly reinjected some life back into a decaying franchise.

That's my literal and shit take. My inner child, fanboy take is fuck the fuck off if you're not all in. Let's go get our god damn division back.

The only way Cam can be successful is as a dual threat. The last couple of years here, Rivera tried to make him a pocket passer which exponentially exposed his messed up shoulder and lack of accuracy.

He has to have some designed runs this Sunday to keep the defense honest

well they are not going to game plan like they trying to extend his career... and I don't think Cam himself is interested in holding back, it's make or break time
