I’m noncommittal on this move. Kelvin had some nice moments, but had a number of games that he was pretty much a non-factor. My biggest concern in this trade is the timing, especially since we play Atlanta this weekend. There’s no apparent plan to replace KB...unless we’re going to roll the dice with Shepard and Samuel.

Hurney...you better know something that we don’t know.

Thomas Davis' wife made a comment last week about some of the offensive members, something to the effect of 'You don't practice hard, you don't play well in games'. I wonder if this was aimed at KB, especially in light that he apparently left practice on his own last week because his knee hurt.

We drafted him to be a #1 receiver, and he's far from that. He is in his fourth year and still seems to put forth a lackluster effort a great deal of the time, can't or won't block worth a shit, and runs lazy -and predictable- routes (that arguably have led to interceptions). That, and Cam does lock in on him, to the detriment of the team.

A part of me hates to see him go, but the truth is we're now off the hook for paying him big bucks to report to camp fat and out of shape and be a slightly-above average player for another couple of years. That, and we got a 3rd and a 7th for him.

The key now is that Cam doesn't play like a heart-broken teenager and actually starts spreading the ball around now.

Well, I hope the speedy guys have a great vertical leap when they get there.

Fat WNBA player. I laughed out loud on that. Agreed on the cam part, he needs to work on his mechanics

Fuck 13. I'm glad we got a 3rd rounder for him to be honest, I expected a 5th. He wasn't a very good NFL player. Maybe he flourishes in Buffalo, but he was a substandard Panther.

the part that scares me is Hurney staying. I'm terrified that this is a sign of a long term stay; and while he was a superstar with his first round picks, anything beyond that was a low percentage crapshoot.

We're also seeing just how bad Gettleman's legacy was. Dwindling draft picks, a first round bust in a DT who can't even suit up, a FA forced exodus with some excellent players and role players such as Norman and Ginn, and it's so concerning to see a SB team just dismantled in such short order...

And how Shula has lasted this long, outlasting GMs and great players is fucking scary.

A 3rd and a 7th isn't enough for a caliber of player that KB is. Not a knock on your team, just seems like a bad deal. Makes one wonder what was happening behind the scenes and in the locker room.

I also think there's more to KB's knee than we're aware of.

Did anybody notice the big goose egg on the side of it last game especially?

I think we could argue the compensation both ways, but the future cap hits are enormous, especially considering his play.

And even arguing a 3rd and 7th is not bad, unfortunately, hurney and co. have not been particularly stellar at picking those rounds. So that clouds that as well.

Getting a 3rd round pick for half a season of a player who isn't "special" is pretty good. A full year of Sammy Watkins only got the Bills a 2nd rounder. That being said, Benjamin was having his best year by far, destroying career highs in both catch percentage and yards per target. He's a legitimate wide receiver, this season at least, but I agree with what others voiced regarding his conditioning and effort. He wasn't here beyond this season, at least I hoped not, and so this move makes sense. I do agree that going away from the twin towers wideouts may end up helping the offense, as opposing safeties could crowd the box and still help deep if it wasn't a run.
