Yup, Cam is not happy about this.

 

I understand the lack of speed, at least among the 1 & 2 WR's, but I don't get this. We won't have an established primary receiver on the field Sunday, and we won't see any return until next year??

Will we see McCaffrey in the slot and even outside on most downs now? We certainly haven't had threatening downfield speed, but damn, I don't get this. This still doesn't fix Cam's total disregard for check downs and underneath routes.

It is, after all, Halloween. I guess Gettleman's ghost just dropped another trick on the team and fans. I await a presser with Hurney and Rivera addressing the rationale here. And as for that, if Rivera signed off on this and Smith too, shit can that guy. Now.

It seems to me we let the wrong coach go. They should have canned Rivera and promoted McDermott. sigh

 

Benjamin is better than Funchess, but I think you can make a case that the Panthers are better off without both of them. Having both was always superfluous, and by default this puts more speed on the field. I never felt great about committing long term to Kelvin, so flipping him for something is a positive.

 

I was pleasantly surprised at the compensation.

 

I don't disagree philosophically. And as Abusive (I think) said earlier, I try to remain positive. It's difficult for me, given the team's history, to hold that optimism while we wait for another "maybe" down the road.

Can't disagreesome too much but timing is puzzling, but they needed bengi and a deal fell in their lap. It was an even transaction.

Seems to me the panthers are in perpetual rebuilding mode. Like since 1995. Most years.

 

So in that vein, if you're the coach, and your number 1 (I guess) WR is too slow for you, and this is what what has plagued the team offensively, why haven't you benched him before now,going instead with younger speed guys?

And although I can't argue with speed, the O-line is struggling at best. I've never seen a lineman have dos back to the assigned defender more than M. Kalil.

 

This is good. KB has no motor. He's not driven. He looks like a fat WNBA player.

Cam needs to wake up and get serious about being a fucking QB.

So it's not terrible all other factors considered.

Yeah, it's time to give Samuel some downfield looks. He's got the speed. He shows it off as a gunner and returner. We need to find out if he can do it.
