CJ would save $5.98 million. DeAngelo would actually cost an extra $266,667 against the cap unless they pushed dead money into 2016 via the June 1st designation.

cut em both. you don't pay a DE the kinda money CJ's being paid unless they consistently take over games and a re a one-man wrecking crew regardless of who else's out there with them. And he's not. He's good, just not all that. DW isn't worth his money now either and neither is Stewart, unfortunately.

Could be drafting in Amari Cooper territory.

I'd have to seriously consider him.

Yo Collin...being the astute scholar of development QB prospects that you are...a question:

Shane Carden of ECU...any hope for him in the NFL? While you're at it, your assessment of Hardy before someone tells me to take this to another forum.

I would have to take a much closer look for a definitive assessment, but my impression from watching him against Carolina and Virginia Tech was positive. He appears to have sufficient arm and accuracy. The decision-making I watched was pretty decisive and acceptable, but I'd need to see him in a full range of situations and against better defenses. Essentially, my first reaction was to think that he is NFL caliber but not a first or second round guy.

Who knows what Hardy looks like after sitting out this long. I touted him a bit out of Mississippi and was very pleased about the Panthers nabbing him late, but I underestimated how good he would be and was extremely skeptical of them making him a highly paid starter prior to last season. If I was the general manager, I would try to sign him at a discount now, but I think Richardson wants him gone.

It would be pretty brilliant to re-sign him at a bargain price. Nobody will give a shit about the domestic thing in a year.

Brilliant and the Panthers org just don't go together.

If he weren't so immature, it could be brilliant. His track record of fast cars, drinking, whores, rapping, guns and whatever is left suggest high risk. I really don't give shit as long as he brings the kraken but that isn't where the world is any more.
