Strong side tag is solid. I enjoyed last summer and this one's been just as nice. I'm out of the habit of reading the place and I don't think I'll miss it if this is it. But, I'm here following up on a cuckoldry post and so I wanted to summarize a couple of things I believe while I'm here. I like that part, getting to say shit and read other people's shit. I don't know how to vBulletin that you can only post once per thread.



I have no idea if Rivera's it. I want him to be, I guess, but if not, after hearing about so much gloom and doom about '14, I see what turns out to be somewhat of a clean slate. It would come with dead cap, but not catastrophic. It's a net gain, if also a lot of talent lost.
The thing about it is, no one's really safe. The problem spots can be big problems, but if so, most of them are able to be dropped - the secondary, the WRs, and so on. Regarding the WRs, I think they did a good job. I'm glad they didn't fall into the WR drafting trap, and both Ginn and Hixon made sense. Hixon rated about as highly as Smith in FO's 2012 ratings, and so I feel like that's a pretty good upgrade. They shouldn't need Ginn, but if they do, great. This fanbase puts so much into WR, and I don't get it. I think the team's rolling the dice at TE, and I don't love that.

As the picture came together, it looks like they've got a little much volume at returner, and Barner makes less sense with DW appearing here for the duration, but they got two contributors that should help now and the future (regardless of scheme) at DT, and the prototypical instinctive LB that they'd need if/when the contracts start paring down. Assuming all that goes as planned, the draft more or less hinges on whether Kugbila is as ready as Silatolu physically, but more ready mentally. I'm glad we do have young guards, because longterm work will need to be done at tackle.

The secondary could be trash. Rivera's deal with young coaches, for the most part, I like, but I don't know if he has a lot of options. I think Perry Fewell is trash, and since the NFL is college's bitch lately, I'm still into David Shaw but it's massively important how he does without Pep Hamilton. I've been constantly entertained by Bruce Arians.

 

Predictably, I hate Twitter sooooooooooooooo much.

 

I do actually really like Perry Fewell, but who knows. I liked Rivera when he was a DC.
