I think his contract had a no franchise arrangement. Dallas was also close or at 5 figures of cap space so they kind of needed something to give. Re: Top7 he doesn't have to be in some ways just needs to make the playoffs and hope for a hot streak then we get to hear about how elite he is

Maybe he won't be in our plans longterm. He was Hurney's pick afterall.

These QB contracts are getting rediculous. So much so that some of the backup QB contracts this year looked like starter money 10+ years ago.

Something has to be done. Soon every franchise with a top 20 QB is going to be getting payed 20 mill a year. The Cap has to go up, the owners are going to want it to go up so they can field decent teams.

Romo is getting paid like a SB winning QB. He has the stats, brought Dallas stability at the position. But id have traded him and built a better team.

Dallas will probably never win the division again in some time, nevermind the SB.

Owners have more money now. It's the new stadiums, especially Jerryworld, and the CBA, which completely buttfucked the union (still can't believe the NFLPA agreed to it). And owners and GMs are human, and can get brainwashed by the media's obsession with quarterbacks.

Probably not, but I'm surprised that so many people assume it's a guarantee we'll want him back by then. There's already a measure of ambivalence about him this early in his career. Both sides might want to move on if the losing continues. I don't think that's likely to happen, but I think it's possible.

From who? Haters. I doubt that's the sentiment at BOA.

This kid has already broken numerous Panther/NFL records already, at 23.

The wins will come when the TEAM gets better.

Uh, there's definitely a bi-polar attitude towards him. You must have a very short memory.

He actually has been at that level annually during the regular season.
