I'm definitely torn about the idea of expanding the playoffs to 14 or 16 teams. The NFL fan in me kinda hates it. It would obviously benefit a team like the Panthers, though.

What are your thoughts? (not that I care.)

Half the league in the playoffs feels extreme, but the NFL wants to keep that money flowing. I wonder if they keep on teasing stuff like this until the concussion lawsuits pass then they can go all in with expanded playoffs 18 game seasons and adding teams.

I think the NFL will be a video game by 2050.

I'd rather expand the playoffs than add more reg games that won't mean anything

Expanding the playoffs is idiotic. The regular season already means so little.

Yeah agree with not expanding the playoffs. Enough already.

Also, a huge no to euro NFL, and no to eliminating kickoffs. And no to regular Thursday night games.

I agree that expanding would be idiotic. I would vote no for expansion.

I disagree with your second statement. To me almost every game in the NFL matters. Take the jets this past weekend. As awful as they have been, they still were technically in the playoff hunt.

But one of the reasons the playoffs are so awesome is you have to freakin earn it! With rare exceptions, Seattle a few years ago, you have to have a great record to get it. I remember NE missing the playoffs a few years back when Brady was out and they had like a 10 win season or something.

Goodell needs to leave it alone. Damn I'm tired of that dude!

Agreed, I dont advocate eliminating kickoffs, but move it back to the 30 or 25, and let the chips fall where they may. This rule change a few years ago ruined an important faction of the game. The high-injury argument during kickoffs doesn't hold a lot of water with me. This is NFL football. Conjecture on my part, but I suspect the debilitating injury rate is higher in NASCAR and professional boxing, when you compare the number of partipants in those respective sports. I feel sure the death rate is lower, even when you factor in concussion-related suicides/deaths.
