    I'm sorry let me re-phrase that...how many "SUPERSTARS", icons have you people had play here professionally? Larry Johnson? Morning? Jordan in college? Exactly! Newton makes people outside of Carolina give a fuck! Smithy is a great player but not many outside of the panther circle give a fuck.

    I'm sure grandmama was bringing the same media attention that cam is. He was relevant for a minute and not that big of a deal outside Charlotte.

    It's a valid point. If LJ or Mourning had played out their careers in Charlotte, and/or won some championships, then they'd clearly be ahead of Cam. Since those things didn't happen, it's a debate. Cam needs to do a lot more to cement his place as the pre-eminent sports star of the Carolinas though.
