I didn't say that people care, I said that's how everyone views you. Everyone knows that you're a guy incapable of admitting to ever being wrong about anything, even if it's saying a guy was only one position when he played seven years at another position.

Not the "everybody is equal" nonsense again. We're not in sixth grade, so saying things like that reinforces the notion of you being delusional.

You can't be honest about yourself. Never have been, never will be.

Of course, because it's always been about you. You behave like a hypocrite and I shine a spotlight on that hypocrisy. I gave you an opportunity to prove that you do seek out conflict and that you are just as guilty as I am in causing these drawn-out arguments. You did what was expected.

"I'm just surprised he prattled on about 'truth' and 'hypocrisy' but couldn't answer four basic questions", said no one.

If the Panthers have another bad year this year, Hurney has got to go! He should be removed from any position that evaluates talent and makes roster decisions. It is completely ridiculous to spend so much money in a couple positions as he has when the money could be easily distributed out for better role players where the team currently lacks talent. The endless stupidity has to end and someone has to put a stop to the bleeding!

I am all for building our team through the draft and not spending big on overpriced free agents. This idea he has that he is going to lock down every single Panther to big contracts just because they are home grown is bullshit! You can be loyal, but you have to be smart and know when to go in another direction. I love Thomas Davis! That was the worst decision ever by a general manager to give him a huge extension at the time he did. Throw in the Delhomme extension and you have become the laughing stock of the NFL. I am scared to death that Hardy has a breakout year in the final year of his contract and Hurney offers what’s left in the bank to him.

You know, I just wonder if maybe its Jerry pushing for all these stupid ass contracts and Hurney is just his yes man. Id certainly think after so many of what most of us would consider fuck ups(peppers, delhomme, the last 10-12 second round picks) an owner with any pride wouldve shit canned the GM especially when Fox got fired. Maybe hurney is an idiot, but Jerry aint to
    fuckin bright.

JR is like Jordan in having a circle he trusts implicitly. Those people don't get evaluated.

As far as 2011 is concerned I've said the same thing. There are various points in which you can see Richardson's overall framework in mind. I've suggested Hurney is there because he wields just enough power but gives a lot of it away.

But, it's still up to him to get it done. It's the same as being John Fox's OC. You're not going to throw up all verticals on third and 7 if he wants you to be conservative, but when your draw is stuffed for a loss you were still in on it. When you're trying to do someone else's will, there could be some things lost in translation.
JR most likely did suggest throwing all they could on FAs in 2011, and Hurney probably did that. It didn't help going after Rosenhaus clients, either.

Now that doesn't absolve Marty. I think he's likeable, works well with everyone, and people piss on him "not being a football man" when he inevitably has more time inside an NFL team than most stay in a profession. But he's just OK at best, even if I don't personally think he's the "worst", and he's at the mercy of his college football director to really make it happen, and that's come and went over time.

Or that's my interpretation. I haven't known guys in the building for a few.

Jerry Richardson didn't force Hurney to give Delhomme a shitload of money, trade for Armanti Edwards, trade for Otah, trade for Everette Brown, give Thomas Davis a monster extension, give Peppers away for nothing, give Godfrey a shitload of money, refuse to sign any decent free agents from other teams, etc. Hurney is the worst general manager in the NFL by a pretty big margin. He's not awful because he's doing JR's bidding but rather because Hurney is a moron who shouldn't be anywhere near an NFL front office.

It's bizarre to me how some people constantly make excuses for Hurney and pretend that a general manager is just a helpless patsy for the owner.

force, no. And definitely no real culpability for the draft trades. But, certainly JR had a heavy hand in the decisions we've made. I know you disagree with it, but it doesn't "hurt" your crusade. In no way does it make Hurney look better.
