    The Jacksonville Jaguars have hired Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey as head coach, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

    Mularky is pretty damned lucky, I think he just went from fired to a HC gig.

    Suits me just fine too, we would really have been hurt by Chud leaving. Now we get an offseason of progress and continuity. Excellent.

    Didn't Mularky quit on Buffalo? Either way, it's a pretty crappy hire. I'm betting Chud watched film of Gabbert and decided it wasn't worth it.

    yes. Also, his middle name is apparently Rene'.

    When that was the group that the owners decided to interview, it was fairly clear an uninitiated owner would want the guy with experience. Chud hasn't had a head coach interview before, and Gruden was with a team this time last year that doesn't exist in a league that may not exist soon.
