He never was an elite QB. He had a few good seasons but those came when he had a very solid team with a strong defense helping him. Andy Reid had a lot to do with his success. If he had landed on a team without a guy who could get the most from him like Reid did he would have probably never been more than average.

I was interested in us getting him before the season started as a veteran who could bridge the gap between now and when a young QB was ready to step in. I am really glad we did not do that now. Even if we had not drafted Cam, I would rather take my chances with a Matt Moore type guy.

He always had some accuracy issues through his career, but he's in the hall of the very good. You don't get 17th in career passing yards if you are just marginal.

I'm not sure I'd ever call him elite either, ala Brady and Manning, but he was a very good QB who won a lot of games and put up good numbers. A Boomer Esiason type career.

Father time catches up to everyone, and it caught up with him big time last few years. But he beat Farve in a playoff game with Freddie Mitchell as his best receiver.

Wasn't Kerry the first 90 year old to play a game this year? Or something.

Neither are Canton players. But Donovan won more and had more consistent production in his prime.

I have hard time thinking the Texans wouldn't bring in McNabb... Delhomme could get hurt on 1 snap. They are 8-3... and have a really good team. They just need someone to manage that QB position. They don't need a Cam Newton or a Tim Tebow

Clearing waivers means he can be signed at the veteran minimum. That ought to make him appealing to someone.

I wonder if he was friends with Bernie Fine?
