Plus they might as well trade him for something, I just think that huge roster bonus is going to drive down the price.

Teams will be lining up to offer their first round pick for Manning.

NFL teams are obsessed with youth, so I don't think that many teams will be aggressive. The ones I view as decent possibilities for a 1st + 3rd or future 2nd or solid player would be the Jets, Chiefs, Redskins (although they shouldn't), Vikings, and 49ers.

There was an article from someone, can't remember who right now, quoting a Redskin fan who was already furious for sending Orakpo and two firsts to the Colts for Manning.

I agree there less teams that will go after him than one would think, but the price will still be high. Just look what the Raiders gave up for Palmer. I'd throw Arizona in that mix, perhaps Miami.

Arizona is tied to Kolb because of that contract, and I think Miami will rebuild. Then Palmer was just a case of one team being exceptionally stupid. That could happen again, but I doubt it.

You think the Colts could pull a win out the rest of the year if they beat the Panthers? Games left include another game verses the Jags and a game verses the Titans. We hold the tie breaker against the Rams so we are in firmly in at 2. Has a team ever had back to back #1 picks?

Manning will never play football again.

I really don't think they're capable of winning a game this year, not even against the Panthers.

According to Peter King, the Colts cannot trade Peyton because the roster bonus is due before the league year starts. So they'll either have to pay that $35 million or just cut him outright.
