Not that the o line has been any good, but DW looks a step slower hitting the hole, like he's overthinking it.

definitely. A lot of moving to the far outside too late, maybe a bit of pressure to hit a homerun. An odd byproduct of the lack of 9 man fronts is that there's more behind the LOS to pursue, so some of those big plays actually get lessened, but that's a separate issue we haven't been near worrying about yet.

If you remember the year they both had over 1100 yards. There was always one long run a game for each of them. Alot of short gains then a 60 yard run. I'm not sure we have the backs that are capable of averaging 4.5 ypc for 25 reps. More like 2 ypc and a 60 yard run for 25reps. Same overall ypg but that 2 ypc does not move the chains or take time off the clock. I don't think they are getting enough reps to bust the long run.

Is the running game factoring in the little dump off passes? because it seems like chuds version of the running game is dumping it off in space. In that case Stewart is even more impressive...

Anybody notice that against the Jags they had Williams trotting out with the Offensive team introductions but Stewart was subbed in for him on the second offensive play?

Williams is in a hell of a slump so I am all for playing Stewart ahead of him and giving him 70% of 1st and 2nd down carries. I think he will thrive with even more work.

Williams will be ok and will be a good guy to go to after Stewart gets 5 or 6 games of abuse.

In this case you have to go with the hot back.

I think DeAngelo has always been Barry Sanders like in that he may run the ball 15 times for 30 yards then break off a couple long runs. He's not getting enough carries to break the long one. Think back to pre season he looked much quicker than Stewart so I don't think he's lost a step...

And yeah short passes have replaced runs - reminds me of the Bill Walsh 49ers.

I agree that they should think about trading Stewart, but I wonder how much they could legitimately get for him with only 13 games being cost controlled. With RB being such a fungible position, I'd be a bit surprised if they could get a 2nd for him. Who knows, there is always a sucker out there, and if a star rb goes down....

DW needs someone to tell him that telling people you don't suck when you have been sucking is not the smartest tactic. Go out and do it on the field. I stil think he's got something left in the tank, but certainly not 43mm and 5 years left in the tank.

Yeah, Barry Sander is the first think that comes to mind when I watch him. Please.

He reminds me of a guy who just signed a big contract.
