Did we work out Kearse today, or was he never coming to us? In short, what's his status?

Not signed, Rivera said they'd wait on adding another D-tackle since whoever they would pickup wouldn't play on Sunday anyway.

Thanks. Wonder what percentage of snaps finds us in 3-4. I mean, with only three DT's on the roster.....

I would not expect much 3-4 given that it doesn't suit the roster. Instead what I would expect is that they'll bring a DT off when they go nickel.

3-4 would be one gap. Rivera gave a lot of 4-3 looks last year, some by bringing in more specialized personnel and some with base. He was flexible. I'm sure there will be some of that this year, but less so because of the limited time prep.

Seems like they're continuing the plan from last season where there is more of an emphasis on being young and developing than choosing the best overall players.

He's only 29. Hell at this point he'd take a vet minimum with incentives

If I were a DT I would probably avoid Carolina. I would rather keep my ACL, MCL, Achilles, Patella, shoulders and other parts functional and continue to play in the NFL for several more years. Signing here is an automatic trip to IR.

3-3-5 as opposed to 4-2-5? Makes a lot of sense to me.
