    Those are Steve Young's numbers for his first 4 years out of college, 2 yrs USFL & 2 yrs Tampa

    PS, and then he got traded to SF

    so some of it's supporting cast and coaching. Young is somewhat of an anomaly. Honestly when the numbers were posted I figured the conversation was going to be Roethlisberger.

    As for those numbers, if they come with good running, good defense, and a few plays of his own, and they only get this much passing out of him? It's still not worth the #1 pick, but that's passed. We aren't going to change that anymore than this contract or that contract changes what happens on the field with vets. After that, it's what growth he's having.

    I read on NFP that they may be looking to implement a distribution, to get up to 3 backs some balls, that would mean they really only "need" 15 completions from Newton.

    Kind of plays into what I've been screaming for years. Even quarterbacks who will eventually become good often suck ass in the first couple or few seasons. Newton and the other flawed quarterbacks in this class would have been better off if they could just sit, learn, and be coached for two seasons.
