    I do not want to run the option but I do hope the tailor the offense to fit his skills. He is not a polished passer so if he is going to start right away we will have to acomodate him.

    He said we should run it in 3rd down packages, which isn't a bad idea at all imo. I just hate having a $50 million option QB.

    yeah, the way to make him a good pocket passer is to make sure he's never in the fucking pocket.

    You are assuming he can become a good pocket passer. If you accept that he will never be more than adequate in that area then rolling with what he can do makes the most sense.

    I'm cool with having a 3rd and medium/3rd and short package for him, but that's obviously not what we want long-term, and you have to weight the risk of him messing up his shoulder or knee with a hit.

    if you think he can't be, I don't know why you'd draft him. Guys who can't play in the pocket at least most of the time aren't successful.
