    Yeah, I went to hooking up my spare audio interface so I could jack it up via headphones. By the time I had that straight it was over.

    What if we pulled a Minnesota Vikings and just let the clock expire. We could pick a guy we like and pull the trigger when we got worried that he was about to be picked. Maybe we take Jones but get him at #10 instead of #1. That way we end up paying him millions less.

    It's a horrible idea, and irrelevant, since it will never be done on purpose. Clock runs out, and teams are leapfrogging your ass minute after minute.

    I would seriously be more excited if we traded the pick than if we wound up selecting Cam Newton #1

    That being said; I wouldn't hate the pick, mostly because I know we tried like hell to trade it! Unfortunately no one wanted the fucking pick!
    I'll give Hurney credit for trying and for taking a huge risk

    The team can trade down if they want. Who wouldn't want to have the first pick in the draft? You just have to be willing to trade it for what the pick is worth...really worth, not what that trade value chart says. Like others said, trade for a top eight and a second round pick. Everybody wins.

    That is the idea. Would you rather have Jones at #8 money or Newton at #1 money?
