player's association looks like shit right now, IMO. Yes, technically they don't exist anymore, but that will

owner's last offer looked reasonable. Making tons of last minute demands and then shitting the bed isn't a good counter offer.

I agree at the moment they do appear to have not budged much at all...

I will say that some players - Drew Brees specifically (and more close to 'home', Shockey) - have done a very good job of saying they're sorry it came to this or that hope still exists. Plenty of less classy players taking it personally that they're now a member of a useless trade organization and blaming it on everyone but the idiots that just decertified. Plenty of local idiots whose game I respect, too.

Yeah the Players have basically launched a nuclear first strike at the Owners. Glad they weren't running the USSR during the Cold War era.

Sucks, but probably a smart gamble. Doty is most likely going to give the players almost everything they want.

    agree on Doty.

here's the PA's side of things:

hard to say who to buy. The idea of playing under 2010, if true, is probably something the owners should've taken. It certainly would benefit this team, and while plenty of teams suddenly wanted to drop salaries this February, and would probably continue with another uncapped year, we've already done that.

also, I'm told riddel has gone to the huddle to lecture people on legal terms and talk shit to dissenters, which has to be hilarious.

Players need to protect themselves by limiting who talks to the media. Listening to NFL radio yesterday while in car they talked to the Eagles player rep. Guy came off as retarded troll (sorry Charlie Sheen).

So many people will get shit on by all this. Between local businesses who profit by games, several coaching staffs are taking 50% pay cuts while this happens, play by play tv/radio guys lose all wages since there would be no games to do.
