Good insight, thanks for posting Test123 :)

I didn't realize Steve Martin had such influence over the whole network, I thought he was purely a paid broadcaster.

    Thanks for the info Test123 :) :) . .

Im surprised the Bobcats still don't try to get on in the Triangle area (Raleigh-Durham) . . . That's MJ's college market and IM sure there are a few NBA fans in that area who would want to follow the team . .

What do you think about flipping WBT 99.3FM to Sports Talk ? I know in some markets now (Raleigh-Durham, Philly) there are FM sportstalk stations now. I think WBT could safely flip 99.3 to ESPN or Sporting News Radio safely and still not hurt 1110AM ratings . . . .

Im surprised that Steve Martin has a lot more responsibilities vs. just broadcasting the games . . . And he does ACC games on the side; He is a super busy man !!!!

Unless something has changed Steve is a full time employee of the team. He has been director of broadcasting since he came to the Bobcats from New Orleans.

I am sure the broadcasts have been offered to stations in Raleigh but they have the same problem we have here. They are not going to carry a game that they are not being paid for and the Bobcats apparently don't feel Raleigh is worth paying for. Sort of the same idea for the Hurricane's. They aren't going to pay to be on in Charlotte either.

As for 99.3...I think the main problem is with the signal. You just can't hear it all that well North of town specially around the University are where they are interfered with by 99.7.

They bought 99.3 to help 1110 with the coverage to the West at night. A lot of games are at night so that might hurt their overall ratings.

Director of Broadcasting, I didn't know that it entailed everything. I figured that was more of a sales and marketing position. Of course, Steve Martin might be the most marketable guy they have next to Dell Curry, so it seems like a good fit. I was really glad he came back to where he belongs.
