it's not like the team has spent huge the last two years and just now decided that big, risky investments are risky. This isn't anything new, and they rode it to the playoffs two years ago. It can work, and it's a viable strategy.

So, no, we weren't going to pick up any old, injury prone, expensive, or outright pain in the ass receivers. We should've picked up a reasonably priced veteran, instead of going with nothing but youth, but we didn't, and now what we have shouldn't be a fucking surprise. It's probably going to hurt for a little while, but taking this year's labor unrest (or the potential glut of cap space we'd have in 2011) out of the equation, what we did wasn't anything new other than some veterans being cut (that possibly should've been gone after 08, but we went to extraordinary lengths to not break up that team for whatever reason).

And, with what may be a fair sacrifice in 2010, maybe they spend next year. Probably not, outside of our own guys, who I would really prefer to keep instead of giving $40 million to a guy like that kid from Tampa that Cincy cut without having played a goddamned down. Compared to that, sure, I like having Ryan Kalil, Jon Beason, and Deangelo Williams longterm.

it's not. i guess for some, peter king especially, they bought it. i don't know. when we have looked bad in preseason, we've been bad in the regular season. that was probably the lowered expectations culmination for me.

they'll get better as the season goes on. there's maybe a danger though of a young team like this tuning out the lame coach if the losing gets long. but then again, since it's a losing team with a lame coach, what does it matter?

i dunno. moore has got to start getting the ball to his receivers a lot quicker or it's going to be a long ugly season. i didn't see this coming even after his woeful effort in preseason. saw some things i didn't like but not an int machine. i didn't think he was gonna be a great qb but i didn't think he would be awful. we got some things that need to be fixed but outside qb play i think we're a pretty good team. moore has got to get a whole lot better quickly. needs to quit pressing and start slinging and having fun again.

they'll get better, but that doesn't mean more wins. we aren't going to beat anyone with that effort on sunday. this will be an interesting test on sunday. they have a great chance to win, at home, against a subpar team.

With Cinci and NO coming up in the next two weeks after TB, if it doesn't look good Sunday, it'll be a big whole to climb out of.

We're mad because Detroit took away our title of longest losing streak in a single season. We wanna tie them and then beat 'em when the season expands to 18 games!!! :woohoo:
