not really, they went to the campus twice, several emails and phone calls - per WolpFack sources.

 

So I could be wrong here but this is how I see the quick rundown of what has happened (and I've read a lot on it, because, well, its offseason and this is the only thing going on)

1 - they started looking at Marvin Austin and/or Greg Little about a trip to Miami
2 - Other names from other schools come out (also about the trip to Miami)
3 - they leave campus
4 - they return to campus and now Blake is being looked at while reports come out about a trip to CA (Little not involved in the trip to CA, but Marvin Austin and Cam Thomas are).

I have also read that they visited SCar 2 or 3 times.

 

that's about right; what comes from it is going to be real interesting. The UNC side of things makes it out to be basically nothing, money will get paid back etc. The rival side of it, "Black Santa" is paying players and Butch Davis is still Satan.

 

Exactly. That's why i've been reading up on it from both sides. It really is something to watch from a semi-outsider's prospective. ("semi" being that there is no love lost between ECU and UNC, nor ECU and NCSU but its not close to the level of UNC vs NCSU)

I'll read IC and most posters think nothing at all will happen, while a few think it really could be something bad.
I'll read PackPride and most think UNC will get the death penalty, while a few think they will get off scot-free.

Personally I fall somewhere in the middle:

-I think the 2009 wins MAY have to get vacated (2 players accepted gifts before the season and you have to pay that back before being declared eligible, so they essentially played all year with 2 ineligible players.
-I dont think we'll see MA play this year
-John Blake MAY "resign" or be asked to step down (internally by UNC)
BUT:
-I dont expect any loss of TV games
-I dont expect them to be banned from Bowls
-I dont expect them to lose scholarships
-I dont expect them to be put on probation

 

I'm not sure about the vacated wins; I haven't heard that from anywhere, but it makes sense.

I agree about MA, MA = Dez Bryant.

Depending on what comes of Blakes situation, that will determine what happens for the most part. I think his history with NFL talent, that will carry enough weight for him to retain his position. That's if nothing else comes up, so far there hasn't been a fireable offense or a reason for him to step down.

It sucks that the NCAA started with UNC and that UNC is even involved, but the agent activity has to be done the right way and cleaned up. I'm not one of those fans that think "now UNC has made it big time, you're not a real program until you get investigated". That's the exception, there are still schools and successful programs that win and win the right way.
