    possibly baseless rumor, Charlotte sportsanchor Bill Voth says that the Panthers are sniffing around Brady Quinn.

    I don't really have to say why this would be awful, but here goes anyway:

    *paying someone else's first round pick money for a guy not worth first round pick money
    *we don't have that many draft picks
    *well-known but only mildly successful backup QBs are ten tons of distraction

    NAH. They won't be acquiring him . . . It's almost spring and Quinn is probably just in heat

    Maybe we are looking at this the wrong way. Maybe the Browns are going to give us draft picks to take Quinn....

    As for the 1st round pick money:

    Due to inability to hit escalators, Brady Quinn's salary for 2010 and 2011 is only $700k. If he takes 70% of snaps in 2010, + $5.9 million
