Looking like a need. I feel allright about Brown and Johnson. Brayton is UFA.

    Who's there?

Brayton likely comes back, another vet is a possibility not sure I see them going for a DE in the second.

    Greg Hardy DE Ole Miss

If you want an almost Peppers clone, this is your guy. Great athletic ability at 6'5" and 265 and can dominate a game like he did two years ago when Ole Miss beat Florida the year the Gators won the championship. Also just like Peppers, he's a head case. He takes plays off, sulks, won't play hurt and is a 'free spirit'. If you want to replace J Pep with well J Pep jr, here's your guy.

Hardy was constantly hurt and had problems with the new staff, if you want the talent that takes games off try Carlos Dunlap.

I was making general references at this point about Hardy

He didn't have problems with just this staff, but the former staff and his h.s coaches. dominant when right, just not sure when that is.

I think you bring back Brayton and then you have four ends. You might get a bigger end like Haye was but otherwise you stand put.

Brayton is a starter. 9.5 sacks over two years, the best production of his career, but he's always either out of the lineup or inside on passing downs.

Same for Johnson - 10 sacks over two years despite only getting pass reps in 2008 and having to take a lot of pass reps at DT due to necessity. Guy can be a starter and has played the run well. It sucks this is year 4 for him, because I'd have liked two good starter years before you have to worry about a contract, but he's ready to step up.

So you have two guys there that can start, play the run, play the pass. FFs, PDs. The little stuff, to go with pressure.

And then you have Everette Brown, which is still a pretty fucking nice insurance policy. If you can legitimately upgrade at DE, do it, but I think we have plenty of youth.

We're def gonna miss Pep but I also like what we currently have and dont think the drop off will be huge. I think we'll draft a DE in the draft but also bring a FA in.

Someone like Ogunleye or Derrick Burgess would make sense.
