Do I sense some sour grapes here between PC and Mac owners?
Oh my Then Why does it say so on This MS web page????
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/upgrade-considerations.aspx
    For ALL XP Versions:

Upgrade available Custom (clean) install required

And another page directly from MS:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-xp-to-windows-7
And yet another one this time from PC Mag. A trusted site for sure.
    http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2350740,00.asp

I have to many friends running Xp and Vista NOT to get the Truth about to do things as this, as I MAYBE the one helping them out do the upgrade~!
    I get educated first,,,Look it up then I POST.~~~~~
And in no way I am cutting MS down just because I decided to get a Mac. I had PC's for 14 Years if you read my post. Before I made the switch to Mac.

Dude, you don't have to format it and install clean, you just choose custom and do the install and it preserves the disk by moving all of C: to C:\windows.old. Since you clearly haven't done the install, leave it alone.

Just don't open that case to install any memory and void the warranty....cuz users just can't be trusted to do any work on their own machine. Democrats own Macs.

You spoke earlier it's better to do a clean install but Bootay says it can be done. What is the down side to the upgrade verses the clean install if any?

    Thanks

My video card overheats in 7. Stays cool and works great in XP. (6800gt with NV5 Silencer) Several people on the 7 forums have the same problem. They say it is driver problems. I have the latest so not sure what to do now.

You can't do any work on a MAC. If you open the case to put in memory, you void the warranty on a mac.
