    coach @ s. miss

    Corky Palmer.

now that guy is laid back. last season at the helm. retiring at end of CWS. great story. 1st time ever in CWS for S. Miss.

in the dugout sometimes it looked like he wasn't even watching the game. he looked like he was satisfied with a win or a loss or at least preparing his conscience for either. not a bad philosophy, really.

the assoc head coach (who I think they said has been named the HC for 2010?) must be already running the show. didn't see Corky giving out any signals or barking any instructions. cool dude.

In UNC history, Ackley also ranks seventh in at-bats (824), fifth in doubles (58), tied for fourth in triples (11), tied for eighth in home runs (39), second in extra-base hits (108), fourth in RBI (195) and third in walks (133). He owns 105 career multi-hit games in 204 chances.

That aussie for ASU is real good on the mound. He never loses his composure and mixes pitches extremely well.

I think this is LSU's year. They look unstoppable at this point.

ASU didnt even throw their ace in game one. Carolina played even with them but just could'nt capitalize on some late inning opportunities that may have gave them a victory instead of going into extra innings. that dropped fly hurt but that dinger sealed it.
I was pulling for Southern Miss in the night cap but when I saw their pen I did'nt feel so good about their chances.

4 years in a row to the series and I'm guessing they are about to go 0-4 as far as champioships. Getting there is good but I'd like to see them win it just once. Too many squandered chances.

Alex White pitched really good yesterday but in the 10th inning we saw how good the top of the line-up can be for ASU. Before the 10th inning, the 2-4 hitters for ASU were 1-11 in the game. Shows how dominant White was but in that inning those hitters really showed how quickly they can change a game.
