the deal with the old man getting into trouble was a bunch of shit,he was just flirting with the young woman but Mac acted like he was interviewing Jenna Jamison. Hell I think he even asked her if she had ever been with a woman.

I tend to agree with the poster who said mac was better suited for mid days,

    myself I miss the MSP

With Mac, it's like that everyday. His show is 95% unlistenable.

That's just the issue with the whole station now. It's unlistenable because they don't have anyone that can actually talk sports. They don't even seem to be willing to do it, unless it's college-related or NFL. That's the frustrating part.

They'd rather call-bait about things that are of no consequence (why do I care if X number of people like the NBA or WWE better?) because they know good and well they can't actually cary the show themselves. Seems to me they should be ashamed of that...you're a sports talk host who can't come up with things to talk about? Games are played nightly...there's something to talk about.

It's just annoying because I really enjoyed MSP...very easy-going intelligent show with just enough absurdity thrown in at times. I gave the Mac show a month to see if I liked it. Couldn't do it. Faaaaaaaaar too immature for my taste. Now, I might catch about 5 minutes when I'm on my way to or from work. Gary Williams leaving crushed that station. Hopefully, they can find someone else to take that morning slot with Celania (who I like) and get at least one intelligent show on there.

What? You don't love the sound effect machine(s)? I can't get enough of that or "Dirty Cooking". :svengo:

The sound effects actually don't bother me that much. The stuff in between the sound effects bothers me more. I did hear a "Dirty Cooking"...don't they owe Kimmel royalties for that? Is a Top 10 list next?

You're right. Gary Williams was the only regular on FNZ who watched the games. You can't form a good opinion on anything by reading the box score and write-ups, which is why the next good opinion Packer has on anything will be his first.

I haven't listened to WFNZ since Gary left. And that's really sad, because I used to listen to the MSP EVERY morning. I knew the show would suck with Mac. He's not a morning host at all. I just listen to my satellite radio now.

BTW I've tried to listen to Gary's show on Mad Dog. It is really boring. I like Gary a lot, but he does tend to drown on about things. You get to a point with him where you want to hear the dumb callers, just for a change of pace.

Listened to Pack at drive-time yesterday (5-5:20 pm.)

There was a 5 minute call from Ric Flair where he told Pack how good his show was and how much he missed Cedric being on.

And then Pack and Cedric waxed poetically about how athletes get taken advantage of and lose all their money.

Astounding sports talk radio. A+++ would listen again.

I'm sure they had covered every possible angle of the Lakers/Denver game coming up and had recapped the Hurricanes season in the first hour. Hey, it's hard to fill 4 hours of babble!

edit: Forgot how some athletes "have a black cloud following them" like Jayson Williams. Umm, pretty sure ALL of Jay Wills problems are self-initiated. That little segment reminded me how much I hate Cedric and how fucking stupid Cedric is. He even tried to throw the recent Tyson tragedy in there, even though Tyson was in another state. Pack wisely didn't let Cedric hang himself with that cord (so to speak.) Now I know why Packer has Cedric on, he makes Pack seem like a Mensa candidate. Turned it off before QCB or any commercials so I don't think I helped the show out in any way.
