Deerbrooke or Riverbend in shelby, both well kept and challenging, consistent greens. also try Crowders Mtn in gastonia, #14 - youngs revenge is a pretty damn tough par five.

We play a huge tournament every year at Deerbrook. Last year the rough was damn near illegal it was so thick and high. You needed a bush axe to hit it out of.

Played Crowders Mountain on Tuesday (Fucking hard wind on every approach), then Charlotte Golf Links on Friday. Both in GREAT SHAPE

If you live in the Taylorsville area, Brushy Mountain is a gem. Great condition and a good test. It's semi-private but you can get a tee time on weekdays without any problem. Call ahead but give it a try.

Waterford. Wasn't in the best shape a couple of months back but generally a nice course. Springfield is in Fort Mill as is Fort Mill CC.

They want $64/person to play weekends. Too much for that dog track.

Whatever course(s) who has/have the most beverage carts with the hottest chicks working them are my favorites.

Hard to find any course close to Charlotte that doesn't charge >$50 on the weekends unfortunately
