    His win loss record as a starter since college is 28-54.

    Those bad results.

    Just so you know where I'm coming from:

    Lifelong Bronco fan at 33. I was pissed that they would trade Cutler, and still wish it had never happened. But the way he has handled it makes me sick and at this point I'd welcome a trade if we got equal value.

    That said, the argument that he's not a good QB, or not a winning QB doesn't hold much water IMO.

    Heres a post from the Broncos boards(which are split on keeping Cutler)That I found informative:

    "Jay Cutler is a difference maker. He's 12-1 when his defense allows 23 points or less. Arguably the worst defense in the NFL the last 2 years was the Denver Broncos. If Tom Brady is drafted by the Lions, would he still be Tom Brady? No, more like Greg Brady. Jay Cutler is a difference maker."

    As a QB, we won't know the "real" Jay Cutler until the Broncos start playing "real" defense.

    Jay Cutler is 14-7 (.667) when the Broncos give up less than 30 points. He is 3-13 (.188) when they give up 30 or more points, including 3-6 (.333) this year. That is 16 of 37 games Cutler has played in, where the Broncos gave up 30 or more.

    What's my point? No QB can win consistently when they have to score 30+ points a game.

    Even though I believe John Elway is the greatest QB ever, he was 7-41 (.146) when the Broncos gave up 30 or more.

    Jake Plummer was 40-18 as a Broncos starter, but NEVER won a game when they gave up 30 or more points (0-10). He was 4-37 (.098) for his career when his team gave up 30+.

    Brian Griese was a surprising 4-7 (.363) when the Broncos gave up 30 or more points.

    Here are the career records, followed by their records in the Jay Cutler era, of some of the top NFL QBs when their teams give up 30+ points:

    Tom Brady 5-8 (.384);
    Peyton Manning 9-25 (.265);
    Joe Montana 6-17 (.261);
    Kurt Warner 6-22 (.214);
    Jay Cutler 3-13 (.188);
    Steve Young 4-19 (.174);
    Ben Roethlisberger 2-10 (.167);
    Brett Favre 8-42 (.160);
    Terry Bradshaw 4-20-1 (.160);
    Donovan McNabb 3-16 (.158);
    John Elway 7-41 (.146);
    Phyllis Rivers 1-8 (.111);
    Jake Plummer 4-37 (.098), 0-10 w/the Broncos;
    Troy Aikman 2-20 (.091);
    Eli Manning 1-16 (.059);
    Matt Cassel 0-4;

    None of these QBs ever had a single season when their team gave up 30 or more 9 times, as the Broncos did this year. The Colts in 2001 went 6-10, giving up 30+ 7 times. Peyton was 0-7 in those games.

    The AZ Cardinals under Jake Plummer had 3 seasons where they gave up 30+ points 7 times. Jake's record those years was: 1998 1-6, 2000 1-6 and 2002 0-7. No other QB on my list had a season where thier team gave up 30+ points more than 5 times.

    I obviously didn't look at all QBs through the history of the NFL. I don't have access to Stats, Inc like the DP sportswriters do and I had to do this research myself.

    As you can see, there are quite a few HoF/Superbowl winning QBs with dismal records when their teams give up 30+ points. The Broncos were 3-6 this year when giving up 30+. I think we should keep Jay Cutler.

    Point taken.

    At least he only had diabetes, and not Syphillis, like I heard Julius Peppers had in 2007. Whore spawned syphillis, to boot.

    People, Delhomme is not going anywhere (he wants to be here and the team wants him here) and the Panthers are not going to trade for a trouble maker.

    Drop it already. I know some of you would give your left testicle to get rid of Delhomme, but it isn't happening, not this season. :chillpill:

    alternately, you could say that the biggest claim Cutler has to being elite is yards (since Qb rating isn't over 90, TDs aren't a huge number/TDs per attempt isn't that big, completion percentage not elite either) and it was just proven that he's a big-yards QB with a shitty defense providing the need for a ton of yards.

    I guess I look at it differently. He throws hard, He's mobile, He's accurate, He's strong and tall. The only flaw he has is attitude(which is big) but he has always told the truth, last year he took shots at the defense and they were well earned.

    You telling me you'd rather have Delhomme? If so you need to step back and be objective.

    I'd trade Delhomme for a bag of peanuts...

    I didn't say a thing about Delhomme.
    sI also never said Cutler wasn't talented. I said you could say his yards are a product of that shitty defense you're saying states why he's better than his stats.

    There's no excuse for the way Cutler has handled this. I'm sure he feels betrayed and all, but be a fucking man about it and move on. Acting like a woman about this is not going to win over your teammates.

    Personally I am torn between hoping Cutler stays and destroys the chemistry of the team or leaves and they bring in someone who fails miserably. :ph34r:
