I'd be cool with the Pats 1st 2nd rounders....then we can sign a stop-gap at DE like Bertrand Berry or Ebenezer Ekuban.

It would be disappointing to only get one second rounder for Peppers when the Vikings got so much more for Allen last year. It is a lot better than getting nothing for him but it seems like we should be able to get more for him.

Hurney isnt near as good at playing dumb as he is at being dumb. This is like the worst kept secret in the nfl right now.

YAY :) John Clayton just said on mike and mike that he talked to the panthers and that they have no intentions on trading peppers especially for just a 34th overall pick :)

yeah, I'd be fine with 34 and 58. That's a good way of adding two young, relatively cheap players. It'd be value equitable to an 18 pick, gives us 3 second round picks (which could fill each of our three high profile defensive needs). That'd be ideal, and yeah, an aging DE like Berry would fit in well as a supplemental situation.

It wouldn't make us better in the short term, but it would ensure long term revitalization given our recent drafting history.

the thing that needs mentioned above all else is that it's unlikely this rumor involves the Panthers at all.

It's even possible that the rumor leaked as a way of lowbrow lowballing through the media to start negotiation.

It's also entirely possible that this rumor was started on a message board like this one.

It has happened recently that a message board rumor made national talk shows speculate.

I heard that the reason Peppers sucked ass in 2007 was b/c he got a raging case of VD from a whore, and that normal antibiotics weren't working, so he had to taek a long cycle of some hardcore antibiotic to get the whore-flu out of his body, which made him suck.

This isn't shenanigans, either. I actually fucking heard this.

    Rumor that.

I heard from a very reliable source that the Panthers were (and have been) intentionally going for a record af most 7-9 seasons in two decades by any team ever.

there's been so much rumored about 2007 I have no idea what to believe. Teammates are hiding whatever it is. Some say he tanked because he doesn't care about ths team or doesn't buy in. Some say he was sad bastard about his contract, some say he just wants new scenery and it hit then.

if I didn't know better some of it points at manic depression. He's moody and reclusive, and all of it came after the JR callout (though late 2006 wasn't exactly dominant either).

I don't know. Any of it makes sense spun right.
