That's the word. So much for all that strategy to switch positions from short to 2nd and send Kelly Johnson to LF. Braves are coming close to making a lot of deals but not making it happen. I wonder what the next attempted move will be. Frenchy for a Pitcher ? Johnson and or Escobar for a Pitcher ?

frenchy will not pull in a decent pitcher. His slump of the century last year destroyed his trade value.

Media reports are that the Braves thought they had a deal with Furcal but his agent went back to the Dodgers for essentially the same money the Braves were offering.

    :disappointed:

His agent might find GM's in the future a little more unfriendly if it's true that they negotiated a deal and verbally agreed to it and then used it to get a deal with another team. Usually their word is about all a GM or agent really has as far as a reputation.

Doesn't look anything is going to get done unless they jump back into the Peavy deal. From what I've read they have zero interest in Lowe and there isn't much else out there.

It looks that way to me too. I am not real sure why they have no interest in Lowe now that you mention it. Wrenn is working hard but not having much luck so far in making deals.

Forget Lowe. Sheets isn't getting enough attention when his injury history is about the same as Burnett's. That's the guy they need to be going after. If he'd sign a one or two year deal for $10-$12 mil per, that would be worthwhile.

Forgot about Sheets. He's the best of whats left. The Braves have to come up with another experienced starter. They need to make an offer and see what comes of it.
