For years ASU would win the big games in the regular season but choke them away in the playoffs - I like the new trend better.

They'll be good to go come playoff time

look, I'm not a big fan of either team. I have pulled for App for a long time, ever since my sister and Brother-in-law went there many years ago. One of our best family friends is the president of the dukes club at JMU. But you can't tell me that this win makes up for what happened in the playoffs. If JMU gets beat by App in the playoffs, I doubt that the JMU fans are going to be saying "Oh yeah, what happened in the regular season?!?!?"

    Lolz, chill man.

No, it doesn't completely make up for it, but I think it does soften the edge a little. JMU coming back from a 21-0 halftime defecit agains the 3-time champions does make it sweet for JMU, I bet. I don't know any JMU players or fans, so I really don't know what's in their heads. But it sure looked like a "hell yeah" moment.

Edit: a quote from JMU coach Mickey Matthews:

It sorta evens things emotionally, because now if they meet in the playoffs, App. State's probably going to look back to this game and look for revenge, much like the Carolina Panthers did against the Chicago Bears a few seasons ago.

App goes down today, losing to Richmond by 20.

its been a great ride but it had to end sometime.

    Congrats to Spiders

Congrats to the UR Spiders. They had a game plan coming to the Rock, they stuck to that plan and just whipped ASU. The old saying goes "All good things must come to an end". It was a fabulous run for App no doubt but giving up seven turnovers and the majority of them set UR up with a short field. I do not know why Armanti was allowed to throw five interceptions in the game. DeAndre Pressly would have been behind center after the third pic and App losing the game. I've heard some already saying "well Armanti was hurt" and whether thats true or not it should not take away from the Spiders performance. Richmond wanted this win more than App State did and they came to Boone and took it. The UR program was also a very classy bunch after defeating the 3 time defending champs. The Mountaineer seniors will actually have a first upcoming soon as they will actually take first semester exams in a classroom in Boone NC instead of a ball room of a Chattanooga hotel. The coaches have hit the road on the recruiting trail, the first time since before Christmas four years ago. Dont look for this down time to last for long as the 2009 edition of Mountaineer football looks promising. So promising that some are calling next year's team quite possibly the best team ever to wear the black and gold.
