    I was going to start a hypothetical "if we tank this year" thread, but I guess this works. "if we tank this year" how far is the franchise set back, having to change managment?

    It all depends on the philosophy of the new management. For example, if we bring in Cowher, any defender that doesn't fit in a 3-4 mold is expendable.

    every year every team we've had has had letdowns. We beat the Pats in 05 and laid a bunch of eggs. 03 we played some monster football and lost to the freaking Texans. The important thing is how we respond.

    I'm guessing from a lot of responses to yesterday's game, if the Panthers don't go at LEAST 16-0, most fans on the board will demand Fox be fired.

    We didn't lay a bunch of eggs in 05, really. We had some trouble late in the year, though.

    '03 was the 3-game slide (Dallas, Philly, ATL). We also got shredded at home vs. Tennessee.

    None of this means anything for the present, but perspective is healthy.

    Can't win every game.

    I'm upset b/c losing sucks, but I had a bad feeling about this one. New QB, 0-2 team, plus the expectations of us winning with Smitty back.

    I don't like how we lost, but when would I?

    All that said, I expect to be 4-1.
