According to y'all, Fox needs to contact Bissell-Hayes Realty to put his house on the market.

I knew that feedback from this game wouldn't be good, as it shouldn't be. We looked awful in almost every aspect (the defense looked good, on the field way too long) of the game.

What I didn't expect (maybe I should have) is that my fellow fans would start abandoning them after ONE loss to a solid team - especially after 2 outstanding wins. Fox is right, if they would have run the ball there almost every fan watching would have said "what the hell? we have enough time to get the ball to smitty and score before the half!!! why are fox and his staff gonna just run the clock out with smitty back??!!" It was a lose-lose situation. Now that he finally decided to go out and try to pass it, fans are calling for a regime change, come on now guys you know this just as well as I do so don't deny it. We've been saying for years that he plays too conservatively, now he steps out on a limb and there's need for a regime change?

This game, to me, fell on the players - and about 99% on the O-Line. Maybe there were a few questionable calls on Fox's side, but this one falls on the players that committed the penalties (Stewart's kick return, Smitty's long reception at the end of the game, Jakes fumble and lack of picking up the blitz by I believe Nick Goings). Sure, had we run the clock out at the end of the first half the momentum would have stayed with us and we would have gone into halftime with a 10-3 lead but don't act like you would have been a happy camper had they done that. Smith was back, we wanted to see the ball in his hands.

Keep in mind that nobody thought we'd come out of the first 2 weeks 2-0, everybody was calling for 0-2 or 1-1 without Steve Smith in the lineup. We're 2-1 with a few games ahead that should go our way. Don't abandon them yet.

WMeckBaseball,,, I don't think anyone is abandoning the Panthers, but first of all you say we lost to "a solid team", yet the Vikings were 0-2, the Vikings had APeterson nursing a sore hammy all week, and they benched their QB in favor of a 37 yr.old off the bench.

I think folks are simply tired of seeing the Panthers lay eggs given very winnable situations like yesterday.

You are right about one thing, we were very fortunate to win those first 2 games,,, but yesterday my friend we lost a game we shoulda won.

The FS are inexcusable. I wouldn’t exclude Otah from that. The snap count is nothing new to him. Keeping the snap count is the same in the NFL as it is in college. No learning curve for that.
That’s coaching. Penalties reflect on the coaching staff... For me it wasn’t the loss that upsets me. I actually expected us to lose it. What I am getting tired of is the fact that Fox cannot manage a game very well. He's a good coach but I’d be happy with Fox if he’d give the game / clock management duties over to someone else. He just sucks at it...

Without a doubt a game we should have won, but going into this game I was scared of the defense we were about to face. To be honest with you, other than the running game, our offense looked about middle of the pack in our 2 wins. Steve Smith coming back definitely made me feel better, but the Vikes D has looked decent in 2 of their losses, and above average yesterday afternoon. Their QB play was sub-par in the first 2, and I knew going in that I would have rather seen a 2nd year guy that struggles with his decisions than a 37 year old vet. Frerotte has never been anything special, but with AP and a defense like that he just might be solid enough. With that being said, I was highly disappointed after the game, but I was not surprised we lost. Their D dominated us and their 12th man was there 90% of the game. IMHO, the Vikings are a 7-9 team with Jackson in, and a 10-6, 11-5 team with Frerotte in - the reason being their offense only has to score enough for the defense to do their job. They will win a lot of close games, but with a solid D that's really what you're looking for. The way their team works is close to the way ours works, a lot of games that should have been won will be lost.

It just bothers me that people around Charlotte were thinking Super Bowl after the first 2 wins, and then 1 loss we need to get rid of John Fox and the whole coaching staff. He did what has worked for us in the past 2 games, and it didn't work yesterday.

Correct, but a coach can only do so much. Most of the penalties Sunday were mental mistakes by our players and a coach can't go out there and play the game for his players. The players still have to execute, bottom line.
