This whole draft changed b/c they coveted Stewart.

They could've taken Otah at 13, stood pat and picked a Ray Rice or a Boyd or a number of other guys later - but they coveted Stewart.

And then they had to go whacko to get an OT 6 picks later.

    Nuts.

Those guys better be good. Since we've never drafted a pro bowler, It'd be nice to have done that today. Twice.

    Also Jenkins...

But, yeah, I dont know why they thought we had to have Stewart so bad, but I guarantee he will get a TON of carries next year.

I would have been fine with Otah, or even traded down and still get Otah...and then pick up a good, serviceable back in the 2nd like Rice. They obviously see a big drop off after Stewart. I guess we'll see this year, but at least you know the plan: Be physical and run the ball more.

    Seifert drafted Smith and Jenx.

I was referring to Hurfox picks - and peppers is alone.

If you want to be optimistic:

We gave up a 2nd and fourth to get our 2009 first rounder a year early.

And that's being optimistic. That shit was expensive.

Jonathan Stewart at 15 is a big time reach. If we got Mendenhall I'd be really happy. We'll probably get a QB (which we are in dire need of to sit for a couple of years to learn about the NFL from jake before Delhomme gets even worse and the new guy steps in.) Why the hell didn't we get Otah and keep our picks. I'd bet you money there's a decent chance Stewart would've been around in the middle of the second round. What the hell are the Panthers doing :Reagan-hittin-head-

With the way backs have gone, I doubt Stewart would've fallen this far.

Of course, trading to 23 to get him would still make more sense than trading to 19 for Otah, and this run on OTs does suggest that we would've seen something fall.
