Apparently, everybody but Carr and Collin saw what you two saw.

I'm glad you saw it too. This is the kind of thing that could only be seen in the stadium....if you watch it on TV you only see what the cameras want you to see.

Why did no one in the press see it?

i was on the field, and shot one play where I isolated on Smith--his last route. He left the line, looked and saw the ball gone to the other side of the field, looked up, and then called for a sub (replacement-not sandwich), and left the game.

Smith did not talk to the media afterwards, so from here on out, is just my opinion.

He was disgusted that Carr didn't throw to him. It's very possible (and granted I didn't watch Carr on that play, so I don't know if he did or not), that Carr didn't even LOOK at him. I did see the two having a conversation in the locker room (we ran that video last night), and they were not animated, but they were talking about football, and not which nice car gets better gas mileage. If Smith feels Carr isn't even looking in his direction because he assumes Smith is drawing multiple defenders, then my guess is Smith is telling Carr "I will get the ball.." or something to that extent.

long story short--the media saw it, but without anyone commenting on it (although Carr did say that Smith is his first read in every pass play in his postgame comments), it is hard to write something other than an opinion piece. Straight-forward reporting doesn't lend itself to opinion. Columns do.

    Pasquerelli Story on this

The frequently combustible Smith, whose legendary volatility early in his career often got him into trouble on and off the field, did not speak to the media after the game. According to reporters who cover the Panthers on a regular basis, that has become the norm of late. But the seven-year veteran did have a long conversation with Carr in a corner of the locker room.

And the content of that dialogue? Carr, who replaced Testaverde in the second half after the 43-year-old starter's Achilles tendon tightened on him, wasn't sharing any details.

"[But] we're too old to keep secrets from each other," said Carr, who approached Smith about the struggles of the Carolina offense after the defeat, and likely got an earful from the Panthers' most feared playmaker.

if that was an earful, then Smith has toned WAY down. It was a conversation, it wasn't a blow up, it wasn't yelling and screaming, and certainly wasn't an earful.

Pastabelly was later seen (by me) in the Colts dressing room in front of Peyton Manning, laughing and joking at every quote Manning gave, and 2 of them were mildly funny.

The above quote makes it look like Lenny is trying to stir shit up.

I watched your show and I noticed some kids(Steve Smiths'?) in the shot of Carr and Smitty having their conversation, so I'm not surprised that he was "toned down" at the time.

Anyway, this whole thing is just so frustrating that it's bordering on ridiculous. Even I expected more out of Carr than this.
