    limmie do this now

i'll post now 'cause i have two shows to do....nice to see you guys are alive and kickin ! currently i'm doing two talk shows in two different regions....one in the midwest and one in new orleans......what makes it fun during football season is the fact that i can talk Big 12 in one area and SEC in the other...Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints...on one of the shows.. we also mix in some political talk and pop culture with our own spin...amazing how sportsfans can attack a political issue ! lots of passion......katrina hurricane changed alot of stuff....amazing two years.

still doing the nba with a full travel schedule covering the Hornets.
so the plate stays full....also do some segments with Fox Sports National Radio.....

check out hornetsreport.com.........the speaking of sports forum....

i'll post again...i'm going to give you some interesting history and story lines about sportstalk in charlotte.....

best to everyone and yak at ya later !

    G,

I was listening to the local station here in Nashville while working (so I only heard a couple of comment and no name of who was talking). He sounded like the Saints broadcast guy or newspaper guy. He said some really nice things how the NO pro athletes ponied up some serious bucks and time to help Katrina victims. How sports has help people take their mind off their situations etc. It was a really nice interview.

One comment he did make is that, and I am paraphrasing, the Hornets are still trying to 'find a home' in the NO market. I found that a strange comment. Any comments on that statement? I thought they were doing pretty well and were well received.

    be glad to answer

what he mean was probably this.the team arrived in new orleans and began their marketing and community programs etc.they along with the saints were topics on talk radio and the fans were getting to know the team.when katrina hit the area it forced ( due to the situation the team to re-locate till the arena offices etc etc were usable( saints played some games in at the LSU stadium.

the two year seperation took away some of the momentum that was begining to take place. so now to a degree its like starting over.
the team should be good ( pick and the FA market)

saints have a 40 plus year history..hornets are new.but the NBA interest is creeping back at a nice pace ( all-star game is here)

    was crazy for everyone...the evacuation..mama mia !!

Glad to see you back on TBR Vman :D :D !!!!!

    OK, here are my questions

    1) Long term future of the Saints: In 5 years, will they still be in New Orleans or in LA? Has the refurbished Superdome given the team some extra time to get a totally new stadium built or could they survive playing their in the long term? When will LA be back in the NFL (IMHO: After the Buffalo Bills owner dies, their kids will sell the team to the highest bidder . . I think I read somewhere they have no interest in running the team plus the estate tax will force them to sell the team).

    2) How was life in OKC the last 2 years? Is that market ready to support a pro franchise full time? Who will get their first, the NBA or NHL?

    3) Are you a made man now in NoLa :) ? Does the ghost of Carlos Marchello visit you at night and give you advice on how to run the family bizness?

    4) UNCC & Football: What should the Niners game plan be? Stay at Div I-AA for the long term or play DIV I-AA for a few years and then move into a conference? I suggested in another thread that the long term goal should be to join the BIG EAST (see UCONN's journey from Div I-AA up to Div I, including building RENESTCHLER FIELD in East Hartford). This would up grade our hoops profile (going to the A-10 has been a big mistake IMHO) and put us in a good football conference. I say bring in ECU to the BIG EAST would help them establish a southern footprint which would benefit the conference.

#1 saints have 35 thousand people on ticket waiting list....they'll stay in new orleans..to many state perks...remains to be seen if family sells later on.its a good question that deserves a big answer but i don't have one yet....new stadium talk may emerge again in a couple of years..still much to do after katrina....dome was fixed up very well..new lighting ..score boards..suites re-done..other stuff..i enjoy the games there...

#2 OKC was very good to me....gave me nice place to live...made some friends..was tough making the move all of a sudden right after a 30 day evacuation period....NBA happens first not NHL in OKC..population base is lil over 1.2 ( includes the suburbs) nice area...more cosmopolitanthen people realize...reminds me of charlotte 7-10 years ago.

#3yes i am made down here...had dinner last nite at a sicilian place called Impasato's...."real people"..spoke at the Saints Touchdown Club Dinner.

#4 UNCC Div 1....some alumni probably is banging the drum for a D1 football move...will need lots of money....if alabama birmingham can why not...would be curious to hear their pitch to the board to get the required $$$$$$..would be a tough road but when you consider the growth in the area HMMM.project another 5-10 years from now and the base grows....
as long as they understand the cost and time it takes....DO IT.

    lets do more phones !

PS yo muff.....take your meds and slap on your I-pod and drift off to dream land. you're wasting my time.....:42:

you show up with your stupid 'hair on fire' threads wanting to discuss what the board had already dissected and digested a week earlier. you read the board to get your "topic"

talk about a waste of time
