the funny part is the slamming of this guy as arrogant and the like, and I would guess none of you know him, except for what you hear on air.

Remember....it's a radio show. Not a true indication of one's self--at the end of the day, radio show hosts ain't curing cancer.

Yes, I know Gary, quite well. He's not arrogant.

And the fact that more than 1 of you has less than 5 posts, and are littering this thread with the venom lends credence to the "disgruntled radio/WFNZ wannabe employee" theory.

I am NOT defending what he did. He was wrong for driving under the influence. I wouldn't stop being his friend because of it.

If you get this worked up about a guy that you only know because he broadcasts through your radio a couple of hours a day, you should really do some serious self examination.

look i can admit i likely wouldn't do much better if i was in gary's position.....i'd like to think i would do better, but probably wouldn't. only a few guys are really that stand up.....

but gary for years has been telling his audience the "right" way to do things...

this isn't the right way to handle.......plead guilty to your .13.....write it off to yourself as having to "relieve the babysitter" (his words) if you have to....and get on with your life....that's coming clean.

last thing...i wouldn't stop being his friend either, a good friend should defend him.....we've probably all driven after having a few too many at one time or another........but this doesn't make listening to him any easier.

It's like 7 "new" posters just from this thread. A couple more dui's from Mr Williams and LarryD will need a new server :clapclap:

edit: Obviously I'm in the camp of one disgruntled jerk, 7 new accounts...pretty lame

Not sticking up for GW at all, it's just funny how someone can be so transparent and think so little of the intelligence at this board at the same time.

on this your wrong. A friend would not defend him. A friend stands by him. You can not defend the indefensible.

If you can't listen to him, here's a secret. Change the station. That tuner button is there for your use. Give it a try.

Or get sat radio like everyone else that gripes about FNZ.

    i do change the station......
to npr, which is the best i can do..........
unfortunately i prefer to listen to charlotte sports in the morn...
and there is only one station in town.

maybe they could just move gary to the 10am spot or something out of drivetime...

i do miss sports radio in the morning.

p.s. i think you guys are good friends to stand by him (and notice i'm not making a leap that you have...by declaring you part of his legal team or an agent or a wfnz fetch boy or soemthing anywhere in between)

I am surprised that Celina hasn't been popped yet. I used to go by Jack's and would often see him kicking back pops in the afternoon. He is a really nice guy and fun to talk with.

Maybe he is just a good judge of character.
